Digital movie making has never been easier for the beginner. Movie Maker is a free program that comes with the Windows XP and Vista operating systems. If you use the Mac, you'll need to take a different workshop. I am sure the Mac must have something that will do something similar, but this workshop is for Windows users.

To get started, you will need to know enough about computer file management to be able to create a new folder on your computer in which to store all the media files (video, pictures and sound files) that you will be using in the project. (If you need to know more about file management download this document and open it in using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader program.) It is important that they all be stored in the same folder as your finished project. After you create your folder, open the Movie Maker program on your computer. (If you cannot find Movie Maker on your computer, Microsoft has downloading instructions.)
